These series of solid state pressure sensors are designed to provide a cost effective solution for application where the pressure range are from 5 Inches of water column to over 100 psi, the most common media is clean dry gasses, and that the port is typically a barbed fitting or no port at all.

These series of solid state MEMS devices are designed to operate in hostile environments and yet give the outstanding sensitivity, linearity, and hysteresis of a silicon sensor. The piezoresistive sensor chip is housed in a fluid filled cylindrical cavity and isolated from measured media by a stainless steel diaphragm and body. Pressure ranges are from 5 psi to 5000 psi.

Media Compatibility and Pressure Sensors

5/28/2010

Board level pressure sensors are not made to be used with all types of media. To understand which media will work with piezoresistive pressures you need to understand how the sensors are made.

5/21/2010

The differential op amp circuit shown on GE/NovaSensor NPC-1210 and the IC Sensor 1210A datasheet is often questioned. This Blog answers some of these common questions.

LTC’s Single Resistor Precision Instrumentation Op Amp – Ideal for use with Pressure Sensor

4/22/2010

If you looking to make a instrumentation amplifier for a pressure sensor, you might want to consider the LTC1167. This single resistor gain programmable op amp, will save your time and increase performance.

Two Altimeter Schematics for the Hobbyist

4/15/2010

Looking for a circuit schematic to build an altimeter? Try these two circuits created by the Linear Technology application team! Both designs use GE/NovaSensor pressure sensors - The NPC-1220 and the NPP301 sensor.

NPC-1210 compared to the 1210A

4/14/2010

If you read the datasheet on GE/NovaSensor and the Measurement Specialties 1210A pressure sensors, at first glance the two parts appear to be drop in replacements for each other (fit, form and function). However, there is one difference which is not shown nor highlighted on either datasheets.
